CVM Facilities Renewal is an elite diagnostic engineering team with a unique range of skill sets in structural engineering, architecture, construction management, and materials science. CVM helps facilities managers and owners maintain and renew building envelopes to protect their asset value and provide for long-term planning and budgeting.

Positions Available

Entry-level Architectural, Materials or Structural Engineer

CVM is a nationally recognized specialist in the investigation and remediation of building envelopes and structural systems. Our unique and talented team of engineers, architects, and material scientists assists institutional and commercial clients in maintaining and renewing their portfolios of buildings.

As part of a team, entry-level staff will have immediate opportunities to work on a wide-range of projects, from modern contemporary buildings to historically significant structures. Project teams document and analyze existing conditions, develop and implement exploratory probing and destructive/non-destructive investigation programs, perform analysis and materials testing/examination, and provide a range of solutions for repair and restoration programs.

This work is hands-on and enthusiasm for fieldwork, often including special rigging to access all areas of building exteriors, is essential. Additional responsibilities include preparation of project reports and repair drawings, project scheduling and budgeting, oversight and documentation of contractors performing on-going repair projects, and preparation of as-built documents. Entry-level staff have unlimited opportunities for advancement with increasing experience and dedication to excellence.

Requirements:

A Bachelor of Science in Architectural, Materials, or Civil Engineering (structural concentration) from an accredited school and EIT are required. Additional consideration will be granted to candidates with advanced degrees, and related engineering or construction work experience. Of primary importance is an interest in building science and solving problems with existing structures. Suitable candidates will also possess strong oral and written communication skills, and be adept in MS Office, hygrothermal performance modeling, and structural design/analysis software.
